Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information ReMac collects and how it is used. ReMac is designed to be
local-first: whenever possible, your iPhone or iPad connects directly to your Mac on your own network, and
that traffic does not pass through our servers.
Information We Collect
- Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, we receive a stable Apple-provided identifier
for your account. If you choose to share them, we may also receive your name and an email address
(which may be an Apple private-relay address). We use this to link your iPhone or iPad with your Mac
under the same owner and to manage your access.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe to ReMac Cloud, your purchase is processed by
Apple. We receive and store your subscription status and an Apple transaction identifier so we can grant
cloud access. We never receive or store your payment card details โ Apple handles all
payment information.
- Connection data and relay-usage analytics for cloud sessions. When you connect over
the internet, our cloud relay forwards encrypted remote-session traffic between your iPhone or iPad and
your Mac. To operate the connection, we process connection metadata such as device identifiers, network
endpoints, and timestamps. We also maintain a durable usage ledger containing successful relay-session
counts, pseudonymous account and device-pair identifiers, aggregate forwarded byte and packet totals,
transport and traffic-kind counters, and first- and last-used timestamps. The ledger does not contain
packet contents, input events, screen data, IP addresses, or Apple tokens.
- Local (LAN) sessions. When your devices connect on the same local network, the
session stays on your network and does not route through our servers.
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service, including pairing your devices and routing cloud sessions.
- To manage subscriptions and verify entitlement to cloud features.
- To understand relay usage and maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as needed to run the Service:
with Apple (for Sign in with Apple and for subscription payments and validation), and with
infrastructure providers that host the relay on our behalf and process data under our instructions. We may
disclose information if required by law.
Data Retention
We retain account and subscription information and relay-usage ledger entries for as long as your account
is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your ReMac account and server-side cloud data
in the app; deleting the account also removes its relay-usage ledger. Pairing data stored locally on your
devices remains until you remove it there.
Security
ReMac end-to-end encrypts cloud remote-session contents between your paired devices. The relay can see
routing metadata needed to deliver traffic, but it cannot decrypt screen, input, file, or command contents.
Session contents are not retained in durable storage; encrypted fallback messages may be held briefly in
memory for delivery and expire within two minutes. ReMac also uses TLS to protect connections to our cloud
services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute
security.
Your Choices
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Apple Subscriptions. Deleting your ReMac account does
not cancel subscription billing, which Apple manages separately.
- You can delete your ReMac account and server-side cloud data in Settings in the app. You can request
access to your account data by contacting us.
- You can stop using cloud connections at any time and continue using ReMac on your local network.
Children
ReMac is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age required by law
in their region.
